My gf is there tonight and she said the sound is extremely horrible.

HOLLY - Did you catch the date of when Brandi is coming back to Woodsongs to do a full show there?

Crying was great. I've never heard her sing that one before. I was really glad to hear that Matt was added to the show. I think he's great.

I think Matt Morris is talented, but he just didn't keep me engaged this go 'round. I think he sounds a bit like Ben/James Taylor and his more upbeat song(s) remind me of Jason Mraz.

Part of this program reminded me of the Irving Steinbloom special in "A Mighty Wind".

Woodsongs

Postby Tootie » Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:52 pm

So this is my first post...my gf said I should post a review, so here goes.

In my experience, Woodsongs is a thing that must be endured so you can see your favorite singers/song writers. Michael Johnathan was obnoxious and self important, per usual.

Brandi was, as always, fabulous--but I felt she was holding back from the very beginning. The songs were good, but the sound quality wasn't so much. I know the radio show issue was the reason, but the sound really blurred when she really let her voice shine. I thought they did a great job, and I was super psyched to hear they were booking a show back here. The Kentucky Theatre is not one of my favorite venues, but I think she'll get a good response! The comment about the KD Lang hair was funny....good times were had. I can't wait to have the band back in the LEX this summer.

I thought that it was time I join this board, given I'm starting to recognize people at shows.

Be well,
T

Got home late, and only caught Folsom and Crying.

Jackson/Folsom was great.

It might be me, but I thought Crying started out a bit too slow (which is the same "complaint" I had when I first heard Matt and Justin's Hallelujah).
It took a few seconds, but after Brandi took over, I was much happier with the song.

Looking forward to hearing/seeing what I missed.
