I think I discovered MP when Ann Powers of NPR raved about her on a podcast. I immediately opened up Spotify and gave her record a listen - been a fan ever since.

She opened a few dates for BCB this year, and it appears BC became a fan as well.

When MP came through Seattle a local joined her on stage.

Kinda hoping she shows up on The Story cover record.

The top of the bill on both nights is excellent.

Firing up Spotify now to check out the other bands.

Jack Bauer has a band??

I guess because we're close we actually we get a lot of Hollywood vanity bands come through here (Kevin Bacon, Hugh Laurie, David Duchovny, Jeff Bridges......) I haven't seen many of them although I did see Minnie Driver crash and burn at little rock club several years ago.

I saw her live a month ago (day after the elections). It was a bit of a somber affair but she reminded us how music can be the greatest healer sometimes. She played a scorching set that consisted of most of the album + about 6 covers (including Merle Haggard's "Red Bandana,"Loretta Lynn's "Rated X" and "Me and Bobby McGee"). She was funny and sweet and her voice is even stronger live.

Her performance on NPR's Tiny Desk was recorded that afternoon and you can tell just how emotional she was post-election: http://www.npr.org/2016/11/22/503055186 ... sk-concert

I listened to this last night, actually. It was obvious when it was recorded because of the messages she was sending. It was just the audio on the podcast I heard, but I'm definitely going to watch it and listen again.

Her episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast is also a great listen.

Her new record came out yesterday - it's solid.

I haven't listened to it yet -- trying to get the indie record store vinyl exclusive and want my first listen in the media room with the lights out and a shot of whiskey or two.

Margo Price and whiskey is a perfect pairing.

We're sailing on Cayamo this year, and I was beyond stoked when MP was added to added to the line-up. Looking forward to lots of BC /MP collaborations.

MP & BC collaborations should be awesome. MP joined Amanda Shires on stage at the Ryman last week(?) for a song and it was great too. (saw the live stream)

Finally got around to it. It feels like a more even record than Midwest Farmer's Daughter but it doesn't have a song as strong as "Hurtin' on the Bottle." Really like it, though, and think it'll blossom with repeated litens.

@joer

I agree. It's a very good album with very good songs, but it doesn't have a standout track.

Solid
