Question for the street team reps

Postby bendbrandifan » Tue Jul 31, 2012 4:53 pm

I am still hoping and praying to get to do this and I'm wondering how close to your concert date were you notified and how were you notified? Thanks!

Question for the street team reps

Postby JessicaMelrose » Wed Aug 01, 2012 10:17 am

It probably depends on how busy they are with other shows up to that point. Think about all the work that goes in to doing it... Getting with the charities, etc.
That's what I'm telling myself because I'm hoping for either Tucson or Flagstaff ;)

Did anyone else experience extreme anxiety before doing the street team business? I've been having nightmares... Like I accidentally knocked over the tour bus by leaning on it, or no one shows up to tell me what I'm supposed to do, or all the fans run away and grab seats before I can talk to anyone so I get no emails and I totally miss the show, and I forget to remind my BFF and leave her behind! Literally 3 nights in a row...
I wonder what other disastrous situations my mind will create before next Sunday!

You're going to be great! Completely understand the nerves...we had them too. Yours are fascinatingly vivid, though! Quite impressive! People really are easy to talk to. The cool thing is that you have a shared affinity for Brandi and the band so that is easy to use as a connection. And people are always excited to hear that someone is making an impact in their community.

But I would be careful around the tour bus ... I hear they fall over easily. YIKES!

I was really nervous too! I'm an introvert by nature, so talking to people constantly for several hours was a very daunting task. But it gets so much easier once you get into the swing of things! And justafan is definitely right - common ground is very easy to find because everyone likes to talk about Brandi! It really helps to ask people questions about her - what their favorite song is, how many times they've seen her live, etc. because they love to share their stories.

Good luck - I'm sure you'll do fine! :D

I know I'll get all of the information emailed but I'm trying to make plans (I'm a Project Manager by profession and my personal life is run like a project - my poor kids). Do you know how many hours before the show starts that I need to be at the venue?

Does any one know if you can ask to be paired with a certain a person since there seems to be two street reps per show? Also does the email collecting only take place 30 mins before doors and after or are you collecting them sooner?

Ashley - you get to choose the person that you rep with according to Holly and the Street Team when I emailed to ask. I've been selected for the Bend show which is in two weeks (YEEKS!!) so I can't answer the email collection question.

I can't speak officially or anything, but the crowd didn't really begin to gather in large numbers before 30 minutes prior to doors opening (it's mostly the awesome die-hard fans :D ), so there wouldn't be a whole lot of people to collect e-mails from before then. And you definitely only get the iPad/official Street Team shirt from Rachel when you meet her 30 minutes before doors...

We collected e-mails before doors opened, after people went into the venue/before the opener started, in between the opener and Brandi, and then a little after the show ended.

I wonder if they're going to keep up with the Street Team, once the contest is over (sometime before RTR I assume). Are they gonna re-up it? Hmmm...I don't see why not, but then again there's a good reason I'm never in charge. :)

The street team will continue. There's no plan to end it at RTR. I think it is something that will go on indefinitely.

Did any of you give her a little something special like a card or small gift?

I didn't give them anything either. I was thinking about bringing cards, but I worried it might be too much. Now, I wish that I had.

Yeah it's tough... You know? I'm an artist and I'd love to give them something but I think about traveling light on a tour bus is probably important... And then what if they didn't like whatever it was... I'd feel bad.

I've been struggling with the same question of whether or not to give them something. I'm part of the Bend Street Team this Saturday and thought it might be nice to show my appreciation with a small token but then I feel it might be too much. And then I ponder what I could give that wouldn't be over the top or cheesy.
